Smoked Brisket Egg Nog Monte Cristo Sammies
Yeah, sounds kinda funny. But these were incredible!!
I'll list the steps here in case anyone wants to try this out.
Step 1: Sliced leftover brisket and 4 slices of fresh homemade bread for two sammies.
Step 2: Laid out bread, spread Gary's BBQ Sauce on two slices and Siracha Mayo on two slices.
Step 3: Put brisket slices on the BBQ sauce bread slices and topped with a packed handful of shredded cheese (I used blended store bought bag with pizza mozzerella, smoked provolone, asiago and parmasan)
Step 4: Place Siracha Mayo bread slices to top off sammies and press tight.
Step 5: Heat up frying pan with butter at medium heat. Make up egg mixture in a wide bowl:
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp store-bought egg nog
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
CBP to taste
Whisk together with small fork until blended.
Step 6: When pan is heated up, dip each side of sandwich in the egg mixture and place in frying pan. Pour remaining mixture over top of sandwiches (whatever falls into the pan, scrape up and put on top of sandwiches so it will all stick and cook in when flipped). Flip sandwich when underside is golden brown (3-4mins).
Step 7: After flipping sandwich once, place lid over pan to hold the heat in. This will help melt the cheese and heat up the inside.
Step 8: After another 3-4 mins, remove sandwiches from heat and place on paper towel lined surface and pat dry the tops.
Step 9: Plate up and eat!!
The sweet richness of the outside from the egg nog, the tangy bbq sauce inside, the smoky brisket, and the bit of spice from the siracha mayo...This may be a new holiday tradition in this house!!
Apologies for no step-by-step pics, but to be honest, I didn't think these would be that good. After trying a bite of Ms. Duke's sammy, I knew I needed some pics.
