Smokin in the mornin!

  1. My wife had informed me I was cooking for a large party. Turns out it's a small party off about 15 to 20 people. I've thawed prepped and rubbed down 2--8lb butts and 4 racks of ribs! Love you honey!! The neighbors, hers and my mom and dad will be fed well and plenty left in the fridge! :)

    Don't 'cha just LOVE when that happens!  When she says "Honey, can you make pulled pork for a party next weekend?"  No problem.  It's when she starts with 'Oh I forgot to tell you......" and you have two days to smoke whatever she's promised to her work group, neighbors, or social club that throws a wrench in the machinery.  But I still love to do it!

  4. Yeah, ill have a blast! The neighbors will be happy! Ill post pics tomorrow on the progress!
  5. Update: ribs and butts are on. Temp of smoker has been about 20° difference across smoker :). About 2 hours in and going good! Temp of butts 102 and 95. About to wrap ribs!
  6. Looks like a good smoke. Leftovers are never a bad thing. I am doing a smoke that I'd 80% freeze for the winter today. Ha!
  7. Nice! Im having knee surgery Thursday, the leftovers will come in handy! Let me know how it goes for you today!
  8. Update: ribs just came off, some better than others, I tried to smoke too many at once I think. The ones that are good are real good!
  9. Success! I was told the ribs were better than bootleg bbq(a local restaurant) the pulled pork everybody seems to enjoy it. And I learned alot in the process! Ready for the next one!
