My name is Jerry and I live in, well pretty much, smack dab in the middle of Texas. It's hot, dry and we rarely ever get rain. But I like it and it's home for now. I have a custom-made smoker that I won in a raffle. It's made of 24" well casing and about 6 1/2' long (including the fire box). It sets on a 12' utility trailer with a Rigid strong box in the front for storage. I talked smack saying if I ever won it, I'd sell it in a heartbeat. But when I heard my name, I knew I had to keep it. I can't lie.., I'm hooked!!!!!
I've been smoking for about a year and a half and have tried smoking everything from a whole turkey, brisket, ribs, sausage, & skirt steak. I even helped a friend smoke a whole young hog for a good ol' East coast "pig-pickin"!! I've been very fortunate to have been offered a lot of good advise. I'll keep trying and experimenting.
