Reheating butts and ribs

  1. I'm heading to a wedding in S.Carolina in two weeks and have been asked to partially cater the reception. I'm Q'g now and will freeze until it's time to serve. I've never reheated butts or ribs so am wondering what you guys have found to be successful? I imagine it's in the oven, wrapped in foil, but beyond that, I'm lost. Thanks (by the way, have 25lbs of spares on the grill now-working from home! HA, yea right)

no clue on ribs.........interested in hearing ideas on that one

butts tho.............foil em after 170..........then when they reach 200, puncture the foil, and drain off the juices and save em............pull the butt...........add abit of the juice.........then vacupack em............then you can either place the plastic pouch in boiling water to reheat.........or do as i do..........i use a rice steamer to reheat em......using some of the juice as the liquid to steam with.........

DWFD - This thread really helped me when I re-heated some pulled pork lately from being re-frigerated. I believe it was Dutch who said to add some apply juice and re-heat it to 165 internal temp in an oven at 250. That worked very well for me.

For ribs, I recently just re-heated from the frig by adding some water and microwaving on 50%. They were okay but these were the first 3-2-1 ribs I have ever done.

Years ago the local locker sold ribs. He told us to place them in a roaster pan on a wire rack with some water in the bottom of the roaster. Reheat in the oven at around 225* till they were warm. They were always good.
  5. All great ideas and thanks for the link to the other thread. Need to get better at the search function (a good thread on that too recently). I like the rice cooker and the roaster pan. Will let you all know how it goes.

I've always reheated ribs by adding a little bbq sauce (not too much, you don't wanna smother them, just add a little moisture), wrapping them in foil, and heating them in the oven until warm.

I've personally tried this method and it works great. Before I started smoking meat, we ordered our ribs frozen from a place we love in Alabama. We reheated them using this method and they came out fine, every time.

    Ribs? Leftovers, I am confused--LOL

I just reheat my pre-pulled pork in an old broiler pan that is "covered". Add some apple juice or extra carolina sauce and heat at 250 to 300 till warm enough.---Low and slow won't hurt em if there covered, ribs same way :)
