Newbie needing help in Indiana

I started a fridge/freezer build a few years ago, and have yet to get the electric right. I was wanting to see if there is anyone nearby to help. I have an old freezer I gutted, replaced the inside of the door panel and added gasket. I have a stove top burner in the bottom and have a plastic bow containing my pid and ssr. Everytime ive tried it, it either does nothing or heats up to the set temp and completely shuts off. I will get some pics posted in the next few days.
