Up until this past April I didn't know there was a difference between grilling and bbq'ing. I owned a propane grill for years and thought I was bbq'ing on it. My turning point came in the form of a huge windstorm this past winter. It killed my grill... since it cost more to repair than to to get a new one, I decided to learn more about the options. My eyes were opened to the difference between grilling and bbqing. For father's day I was able to get a real treat - a traeger. I love it! I know I was supposed to start of with some basics but there was a sale on brisket and I had to give it a try. Now it wasn't perfect but it really tasted great! Here is a shot of that 1st brisket... and here's one of the fall-off-the-bone St. Louis style pork ribs from a couple weeks ago... I am so used to burning the skin on just about everything. This is taking me a little to get used to letting it cook... but I think I am getting the hang of it. I won't switch back to propane. I have a lot to learn and love getting to eat all that practice smoking!
