HI all,

I hope to learn a lot and to be able to ask for advice.   I found this site by looking up cold smoking.    Our old brinkman finally gave out and we have just purchased a Master Forge from Lowes.   I have just seasoned it and plan to get the door gasket kit that has been recommended by others.   I want to smoke cheese which I never did in the old smoker.   I really did not use it that much, hope to use this new one a lot more.  I also want hubby to build a cart of some sort so it will raise it up a little and make it much easier for me to move it around.   I am going to try to learn how to search this site for all the information and hint, recipes, and tricks to good smoking  that I can get.  Is there another site I should look up for recipes or the tricks to get better results, rub recipes, and more general information.   I have ordered the A maze n pellet smoker.  Is there anything else that is a must have for great results.?

Thank you for all that I have picked up already.

Carol

Carol,

Welcome, this is a great site.  Used to live in Portland - what a beautiful state.

Enjoy searching around the site.  There's a ton of information right here.

Good luck.

Curt.

Hi Carol

 glad to have you here.

If you want to cold smoke cheese, look into an Amazn Smoker. Look for his ad in the panel on the right. It will make cold smoking a whole lot easier

Welcome fellow Oregonian! Great hobby for those 9 months of rain we get..... especially if you have a covered area for your smoker.
