Hey all! been smoking for more than a year, checking into the forums and site for advice and recipes but finally getting around to joining. I'm a Central Ohio guy into Barbershop Quartet Singing, brewing my own beer and of course, smoking meat.

My equipment: Master Forge Vertical Propane Smoker - mainly done ribs, chicken, and pulled pork so far - hoping to get a little more advanced.

Hello bbsnate and welcome to the fun.  I LOVE acapella!   Just great how you folks get the harmony correct.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  The trial and error method works well.  We will try to help you keep the errors to a minimum since we already made them for you.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

The search bar at the top can be your best friend when you are trying to find answers to your questions but you can still ask too if you want!

We have an Articles section that is full of great information about smoking to include a lot of recipes and instructionals. Check it out there is a lot to learn in there!

You might want to check out Jeff's Free 5 day E-Course, it will teach you all the basics plus a whole lot more!

Ya know as much as everyone is brewing around here these days maybe I should look into it. was thinking maybe this year of trying my hand at some sparkling wine when the mescaline's come in.

Why is it you can brew your own beer, make your own wine, but Noooooooooo you can't have your own still! I was thinking, its legal to make your own alcohol for the car, who'd know if ya slipped a drink outta the gas tank? LOL.... I can here it now, a wino sees ya offers you his Sterno and says it better than gasoline.

Anyway this is the howdee do section so I should just say howdee do!

So Howdee Nate, nice to meet ya. Look forward to seeing your smoking achievements.

It sounds silly but take some notes, that way you remember what you did and what you want to try next time or discuss or research on the boards. It would be a shame if you did the perfect smoke and could remember how you did it.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff in Rule #11.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome Nate!  Good to have ya!  Great stuff and folks here for sure.

Nate and I sing together and we just were awarded the 5th place in the WORLD chorus medal last week in Toronto for the Barbershop Harmony Society!  So cool!
