So there seems to be two places on here for new folks to post up, and this area seems to be the busier one so I'll post here too. I kept coming across this forum when searching the internets for help with smoking and finally decided to make an account. I live in Little Rock (originally from Texas) and I just got into smoking about a year or so ago. I started out with a Brinkmann charcoal smoker but found it to be too high maintenance and not good for long and low smokes. I just purchased an 18" Camp Chef Smoke Vault which I hope to use for the first time this weekend. After doing quite a bit of reading reviews and whatnot it seemed to be the best LP smoker in my price range and I got it for a steal on amazon for $159. I've struggled with getting "good smoke" and have had a pork shoulder or two come out tasting like a camp fire so that is definitely a skill I need to work on. I don't quite understand the dynamics of the smoke itself but hope to fix that here. Any suggestions or threads to recommend for using the Smoke Vault? Thanks guys and glad to be here!
