New to smoking

Hi, I'm from Tallmadge,Ohio, just outside Akron. I'm new to smoking. I'm using a homemade UDS made from two 10 gallon drums welded together. It's about 14' in diameter and about 36" tall. I've done one pork shoulder roast and was pretty happy with the results. Looking to learn as much as I can and try some different things.

Welcome GYFD107. I am a newbee myself, and instantly became a much better smoker cook as soon as I joined. I was of the mindset that I knew all there was to know about grilling and smoking until I got here. So far, my famous BBQ'ed pork I used to grill was not so good after I learned how to make pulled pork here. Same with chicken and ribs. You will learn a lot here.

You have definitely come to the right place to learn. You should also try to post some of your own smokes so that others can appreciate and comment on your smokes. Believe me it really helps to perfect your skills!
