New to Smoking Meat Forums

  1. Hi all,

    I recntly joined your forum so wanted to say hello. Jeff directed me here, to the roll call page to introduce myself, so hello from chilly Minneapolis, Minnesota. I just finished brining and smoking some chicken legs and thighs today so am still in my glory. Hickory and cherry was the smoke for todays feast on my new Big Red Kamado smoker.

    I am a long time BBQ and smoking enthusiast. My first smoker was an ECB (el cheepo Brinkman) for 20 years or so. This is the machine I learned to smoke with. I have since upgraded and bought a Char-griller Big Red Kamado and have been having great fun with this unit. Easier to contro temp as well as it's thirfty use of charcoal. My el-cheepo has now retired to the cabin but still going strong up there.

     I am excited to be part of this fourm and looking forward to sharing and learning ideas from the you all. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this group, and thank you Jeff for making this site possible.

    Welcome ! As you browse around the Forum think you will find the information and "secrets" of some of the best smoking chefs (amateur and professional),lots of great recipes, and just good ol plain folks who you feel like you have known all your life. Everyone likes to see the pictures and the play by play !   If you are looking for advice or criticism, just ask....everyone here is here to enjoy their passion for smoking and cooking and making new friends.

You will also find alot of good recipes and technique here also. If you can't locate the answer just ask folks here are willing to share there knowledge.
