It went off with out a hitch, I learned a lesson, never spin cotton candy in the wind. This poor kid, standing there, quietly waiting her turn, when this 4 foot band of spun sugar just enveloped her. From about her knees up.... The Cotton Candy Kid! I marched her in to her mom who was standing there slack jawed, looking at her daughter,. Who was standing there with the biggest grin BTW. All I could say was "What.... you said she could have some cotton candy.

The beans were the star of the show, ribs were a close second. The entire Butt (7 ish lbs) 4 racks of backs some hot dogs for the finicky ones and the only thing I have left is some bamma slaw and  some thing someone brought that I cant identify.

Lol that's funny, Glad it went over good, Always great to them around... lol And then go home.....

Something someone brought that I can't identify, huh?  Maybe that is why it is leftover?

Anyhow, sounds like a good day.
It was a very good day. even the dogs were plum wore out. I was asked on several occasions how do I smoke ribs or beans or... I showed them how to do it on the grill they have and wrote down the url of this forum and gave each of them a bag of rub and some wood for smoke.

One young mother of twins (we had two sets of them here) took me aside and asked me to show her in case her husband forgot lol. I work in a very technical field and a large part of my life is teaching PHDs & MDs, the largest obstacle to which is their egos. Having young people asking to be taught ... well I was in my element. It truly was a great day

As to the mystery leftover, it had a cake texture but was saturated with beef broth or gravy or something with Baco Bits on top, picture a pan of corn bread swimming in the run off of a brisket but not corn bread.

And Yes AB, the icing on the Meat Cake , so to speak, was they rounded up the kiddies that were on a sugar high and went home.

Q[sup]3[/sup], that's flipping hilarious.  All I can envision is this little kid running around in literally a sugary Super Glue cocoon, adhering to any and everything in sight!!  Thank goodness that I didn't have my mouth full of coffee, else it would be all over my monitor and keyboard.

And the UFO that was left:  unidentified food object.  Gotta love those, huh??

lol the older I get the more I believe common sense and attention to detail is the key to pretty much everything.

Doug Gottlieb, talking sports head on CBS, has a great quote that he uses in his opening radio montage:  "Common sense isn't so common anymore."  No truer words were ever spoken....
