Fairly new with smoking. Im using a 26.75 kettle. Ive used the 2 charcoal baskets on each side, then I started using the fuse or snake method and now I want to try it this way.   The divider is about 3 to 4 inches above the grilling grate. Is this going to be too tall or will it be ok and how long of burn can I expect to get out of it. Longest I got with the fuse was about 5-6 hours before needed to add more fuel.  I will be using RO chefs select instead of kbb this time.

Should be fine.  Place the vent and any chamber probe on the opposite side of the burning charcoal to promote circulation and keep track of temps.  Not sure how the solid piece on the bottom will impact circulation.  Only one way to find out.  Fire it up!
