Intro

  1. Hi all, I have been browsing this site for a while getting ideas on smoker builds.  I am currently working on a Coolerator build.  Have most of my parts ordered and just trying to "get it right" the first time.  I have an "Oklahoma Joe's" wood smoker that got me started in this world of smoking.  Have made some great briskets and won 1st in my first competition(not sanctioned).  I have also been working on a 500 gallon propane tank converting to a reverse smoker, but the price of steel along with 2 moves this past summer has kind of halted that project.  Great information here along with introduction to some great products.  Thanks in advance for all of the good information and I will probably be asking for some advice.  I am located in Grand Junction CO, just moved here from Lafayette in October.

    Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

  4. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
    About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
    and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
    We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
    Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
    because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

  5. Thanks Gary, can't wait to get this fridge smoker built, as I have not been able to do much smoking in the winter because my Oklahoma Joes does not hold heat very well!

  6. Thanks, Wolf, I have been reading this website for hours upon hours lately so I get this fridge smoker right!  There is so much information it is a never ending learning experience.
