High Mountain Seasonings

Discussion in 'Making Jerky' started by okeedokeesmokee, Dec 3, 2013.

  1. Well my second batch of jerky turned out  a lot better than the first!  I didn't think it was that great but, I got rave reviews at work. Apparently I'm my worst critic!!!  But my question is, I'm using High Mountain jerky seasoning and I noticed it says to refrigerate the jerky after making it which is fine but is it really necessary after smoking it? Thanks guys!

  2. It should be refrigerated or stored in a air tight container. If not, over time at room temp it will get some mold on.  I vacuum pack mine in small quantities , freeze and take out of the freezer as needed. Lasts forever that way.
