  1. Howdy to fellow grillers smokers! My gf Jay found this site and we were kinda excited. I'm south western Indiana. We grill usually 2 days a week, up to about 6 days. Probably averages out in the middle somewhere. I've this last year am starting to dip my toes into competing. just local grill off for the fun. I'm like most, been thru gas to charcoal and back and forth over last 20 years, but about 7 years ago went back to charcoal, and haven't turned back, and don't plan to. Nothing to fancy, Kingsford charcoal grill, char-broil smoker. Plan to upgrade the smoker to home built, but haven't got around to it. Luckily I've spent my adult life in construction, fab work, and the like. So i enjoy building things like that, as well as using them. Our prefect evening, it's craft beer and fun something on the grill (which lucky for us is usually multi times a week) always looking for new fun ideas, figure I'm find some in here, and hope to maybe help someone else out!

Welcome to SMF dlreitmeyer and Jay!  Glad you're here and looking forward to expanding your skills.  Lots of folks here are like you and love to build their own gear.  Heck, I might even do so some day.

Have fun with your gear.  Be sure to thank Jay for bringing you here.
