  2. Hello kawliga and welcome to the fun.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

  9. Just figured out that my smoker is not a hunk of trash! I have a BBQ Grillware vertical propane smoker that I've been struggling with it for years now trying to make jerky and smoked salmon. But from reading posts over the last few days (especially from TT Ace) I know realize that it's solid for most things - especially with some easy mods (needle valve, new external thermometer, etc) but still sounds like cold smoke is the way to go for jerky. At any rate - I'm excited to get this beast up and smoking again just in time for the holidays!!!
