    Sailor Saves Air Force Officer

U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer saves the life of an Air Force
    Officer during horseback riding mishap!

    nbsp; San
    Antonio , Texas, July 4, 2007

Yet another unselfish act of heroism performed by a man wearing the
    uniform of the U.S. Navy.

An Air Force Captain narrowly escaped serious injury recently when he
decided to try horseback riding, even though he had no lessons or prior
experience. He mounted the horse, unassisted, and the horse immediately
sprang into action. As it galloped along at a steady and rhythmic pace, th
Captain began to slip from the saddle. In terror, he grabbed for the horse's
mane, but could not get a firm grip. He tried to throw his arms around the
horse's neck, but he began to slide down the side of the horse anyway! The
horse galloped along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider. Finally,
losing his frail grip, the Captain attempted to leap away from the horse and
throw himself to safety. Unfortunately, his foot became entangled in the
stirrup, and he was now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as his
head struck against the ground over and over and over.

As his head was being battered against the ground and he was mere
moments away from unconsciousness, to his great fortune a U.S. Navy Chief
Petty Officer, shopping at the same Wal-Mart, saw him and quickly unplugged
    the horse.

Definitely not your NAVY anymore. There are women assigned to my beloved USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) now. When I was on her, the only women we saw were future ring knockers getting their 1 week cruises, or shipmates wives on tiger cruises. Occasionally we'd get a female harbor pilot guide us into SF bay.

yeah im gonna have to side with crew dawg on this one. i myself being a crew chief do not know why anyone would go into any other service, buy hey to each there own. i just got back from our once every year and a half deployment, which was only 3 months and it was to japan. my "billeting" room which had a seperate bedroom with tv dvd, living room with couch and another tv and dvd, very nice bathroom i didnt have to share with anybody and my fullsize kitchen with was rough living there for 3 months.....ohhhhh i forgot the maid who cleaned it everyday hahahahah. ive been military for 10 yrs and i wanna thank each and every person in the military for everything they have done. im just sayin work smarter not harder.

p.s. being a crew chief is a pretty damn hard job, crew dawg should know. last week it was 100 plus ambient temp all week, throw in the flightline and jet exhaust and it gets pretty warm.

im sure ill get some $#@% from some people but ohh well.

Now that's funny, c-rats weren't that bad , we would cut off a sliver of C-4
and light it to heat them, my crew chief even made a rack that would fit on the exhaust pipe and hold them. Crewdawg the most fun I had in Nam was when they sent 4 B-52 pilots to our base camp because we were only
7 klics from the Cambodian border. They wanted them to get a closeup look of what their strikes were doing. Well Nam helicopter pilots got nose bleed
above 100-150' so you can guess what happened. There are probably still posters in the O-Club in Guam with my picture on it warning them to never fly with me[IMG] We did have a great time that nite drinking though
