My first attempt at using my MES 30. I picked a small little pork butt so in case I screwed the pooch it was a cheap lesson.
The rub was one she got me with the smoker, rib stickin rub or something like that. Not bad. I rubbed it down the night before and dusted it off again before i put it in. I also used the Jack Daniels wood chips she got me with it, those things smell amazing. Cooked it 220 for 7 hours (or so I thought, actually 6 hours as I wasn't paying attention to the timer on the smoker but my phone timer. So I had to put it in the oven for 20 minutes after)
After it was actually done I put it on some fresh buns and a Anaheim Chili and Cilantro slaw. Not too bad for the first shot.
Next one will be bigger and I want to do a slapped together Dr. Pepper glaze I use when I BBQ pork loins.
Thank you guys for all the pointers, damn BBQ how to from A-Z in here.
