I'm am looking into getting some mangrove from a guy that has a license to cut it. I'll let you know what happens. I hear that it is great for smoking fish.

LENNY, don't buy the pecan...there's an ad up now for some for free near downtown tampa http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/zip/1107861732.html I don't think I'll have time to pick any up. Definitely let me know about the mangrove guy, I've heard the same thing about smoking fish. All the old timers talk of smoking mullet with mangrove being the best. I can't tell you how many times I've been kayaking and seen a piece of dead mangrove and thought about grabbing it, but the fines aren't worth the risk.

Will do , would have this year but the crash put a kink in that plan. Got some apple and cherry already seasoned and I'll see what I run across this summer.

Anything! Great substitute for hickory or oak just more mild. Great when you combine it with applewood.
