Brian congrats on the first cook and the new smoker
Thank you Adam.. Easy smoke to start with. Lets see how this ol' girl does overnight on a brisket or butt.
Richie... I thank you very much for the points.
Anytime! I'm sure there's many here that would like to join! I don't think there's been a "Lets met in the middle SMF gathering!"
Now the wheels are a turning!
Geographically the Middle of the US is Lebanon Kansas. Mileage wise who knows!
Looks awesome man!!! Food looks great and the new smoker is a beauty! 10 degree difference from end to end on something of that size is incredible! I don't have that consistency from end to end on my MES 30 haha. Can't wait to see more cooks on your new toy! POINTS!
Now this sounds like fun.. Can you imagine all of us converging in one town? It would be awesome! b
Thank you WTG. Yeah.. I love this new toy. But my MES will still be used often! b
Welcome to the Stick Burner Family. Looks like it went great.
1 question I have for you has to do with the FB. It looks like you had the fire directly on the firebox bottom and not on a grate? Are you going to put a grate in so that the ash can fall and not choke the fire out?
I have learned in mine that when I am doing a longer smoke if I don't have under my rack cleaned out the ask builds up and chokes it out. Just food for thought.
The bones and the bird look awesome B...Nicely done Brother! And I sure do like the looks of that new pit! You're gonna get a lotta years of good use outa that rig.
Congrats B! Thumbs Up
I thank you for the tip. In all honesty I though that a grate might be necessary. But for a 3-2-1- smoke it went well without one. I do believe I need a grate for longer smoke.
Thank you red. b
Great looking rig!
I'm not jealous.
The cheque is in the mail.
The doctor says it is just a cold sore.
I will respect you in the morning.
I did not give you a point.
LOL Thank you Disco! b
Hey Brian, Nice job, you gotta be pretty happy, First smoke looks fantastic Can't wait to see more
Brian, That's a great looking piece of steel. Your ribs turned out looking really good with great color. Same for the bird. You may want to let the next bird just walk on thru. The one that you cooked was trying to give up. I saw his hands up.
Great job, Joe oints:
Thank you Joe!
Totally missed this thread!
Looks like you read the manual on that one! Seriously, you have it dialed right in and the cooks look great.
Looking forward to your first big cook on it!
Real nice smoke Brian, great lookin Q & the new addition to the Q Arsenal looks to be fitting right in !
Thanks CB Easy smoke for the first time out. I'm not sure if I can trust it overnight yet. Might try a Butt this weekend. Brisket is out of the question until I have a few more smokes on it.
But so far I'm real happy with it.
Thanks Justin. I'll need to try a longer smoke next weekend. That will be the real test! Maybe a forgiving pork butt. So far the new unit is working out just fine!
