bacon is squeezing my turds

    Anybody else have this problem? I made some ABT's and some drunk chickens tonight. Everytime I make my ABT's I wrap them in bacon, by the time they're done the bacon has shrunk up so much that it squeezes the cheese out of the peppers [​IMG]. Maybe Im wrapping them too tight? I also tried something new with the drunk chickens. I pulled all the skin off and shredded it into little bitty pieces. Then I pulled all of the meat off and shredded it too. Then mixed the skin in with the meat and poured all the juice over it and mixed it real good. It sure did make some good sammiches.

    You can try draping the slice of bacon over the top of the pepper so it hangs down the sides. Then hold it together with a toothpick that goes through the bacon and the pepper horizontally.

    Good deal you did not wrap the chicken in bacon also; other wise you would be choking it !!!

    Seriously...when I make ABTs, I do the half pepper version, not the whole-cored version. The difference is that instead of wrapping around, I wrap lengthwise. So as my turds tighten, they don't squirt out...I'm sorry...

    Nice play on words, lol. I always cut the peppers in half and use a half strip of bacon on each....never had them squeeze my cheese out.[​IMG]

    I d ohalf peppers also and just lay a slice over the top.

    I do mine like Ron, just hollow them out, stuff them and drape the bacon over the top and stab them with a tooth pick to hold the bacon in place. I halfed them the last time I did them, that's the way to go if you don't want the heat. But you get to eat more for your self if you keep the heat in a little. LOL

    [​IMG] LOL...I try to word it so everybody can understand [​IMG]. I do half peppers too. I think I'm gonna try the half slice of bacon on the top. Cause I dont like it when when my turds squeeze their own turds onto my grate. It should cook a little quicker that way too, less bacon to brown.
    Cool video Deer Meat, that is exactly how I did it. I really like the flavor of the skin but its usually so rubbery I cant eat it, so I cut it up real small and mix it with the meat.
  12. deer meat, i did this a few weeks ago, it really is great, the whole skin chopped, fried, and mixed back in with the pulled chicken. it really does work
