Thanks MBalli, when I designed it, I wanted something different, so I made the 2-row barley design with a paper template that I traced on. I bought the jig-saw specifically for making the paddle. This was my first ever paddle, and I had very little wood working experience, so I think it's easy...
Were the heat shields an option you had added on? Mine didn't come with them, though my thermometer is in a different spot, so it looks like some changes have been made.
OldHickory - Are you talking about farenheit or celcius? You said mesquite starts smoking at 100 degrees? I had the flu recently and I had a fever of 101F. Do mean to tell me that if I held onto some of your mesquite long enough, it would start smoking? I can't believe I wasted all that money on...
Well, it came today, and it was right at the back of the trailer. The driver and I inched it off the trailer, then wheeled it down to my backyard. It is a heavy unit, but pretty well balanced and surprisingly easy for one person to reposition on the patio. I just finished curing it, and sadly I...
Can I be honest with you Ronp? It looks like you're using Oscar Meyer turkey bacon, right? You should actually compare the labels of both that turkey bacon, and Oscar Meyer pork bacon, and you'll be amazed to find out that the turkey bacon is worse for you. There's only one spot on the nutrition...
I served on a submarine, and I was thinking, because smokers resemble the big steel tubes that I spent months underwater in, that it would be fitting to find a submarine related name for the new Lang.

Top - Veggies
2nd shelf - beef, steaks, brisket...
I just realized that I didn't properly introduce myself! My apologies for that.
My name is Zach, and I'm a smokaholic. The first smoking I did was about ten years ago at a restaurant that I worked at. I got my first (used) New Braunfels offset about 4 years ago and had mixed results, but I...
You know, you gave me a good idea. I have a friend who's a Vet, and I'm sure she has access to large injectors for horses..... I should give her a call.
Thanks for the replies.
Wingman - I found a tempered glass one that looks pretty good. It doesn't have any reviews yet, but at least I know it's dishwasher safe! It has a stainless needle too.
travcoman45 - Thanks for the help. I might bite the bullet and get a nice stainless one...
Hello folks,
I just checked some reviews on Amazon for some injectors, and they're all over the place, and I thought I should come and ask the experts instead.
Is there a particular brand I should look for? Any advice would be great!
Thanks!
