I am in need of a new grill and am interested in a pellet grill. I have read a lot of various reviews on different ones and saw the Traegger Pro Series 22 is on sale right now and wanted to know if anyone has used this? Is Traegger a good brand? Anything I should be looking for?

that is the exact smoker i have. Traeger is a good brand but you will find smokers that do the exact same job if not better for cheaper and you might even be able to get a bigger one. my Traeger does everything i need it for but i do believe you pay for the Traeger name rather than the product you receive. hope this helps.

Please do yourself a favor and DONT get the traeger. There are much better smokers out there for the price of the Traeger. They are still selling off there name but there quality and performance has fallen behind other brands

That!

Joe Trager the founder of Trager made quality grills outo f OR or WA...I forget. he sold the company or something (died dunno), and now the quality is not good (im being nice). thats the short version of what i read a while ago.

Rec Tec is great! run perfect every time, no issues, great company and customer service if you have questions. I would buy another or recommend without a doubt.

What do you guys like about Rec Tec and Camp Chef?
as an addition to my earlier message the price for product is the biggest thing. i believe that the equal price smokers of both these brands are like 1.5x the size and RecTec has a 6 year "bumper to bumper" warranty on all their products. simply put even though i use Traeger follow the instruction of the fellow posters and steer clear of them as they are overpriced.

I've been doing a lot of research lately and I guess Joe Traeger and one of his sons were hired by Pit Boss (Danson's is the parent company which also makes Louisiana too). Traeger Grills sued Pit Boss and I guess they settled last year. I think the main thing to come out of it was Pit Boss can't use Joe Traeger or the Traeger Barn in any promotional stuff. But Joe Traeger is the head of R&D there now and his son is the head of sales.
