Usually reserve this for the holidays but been wanting to make it and thought why not smoke it 🤷‍♂️

I follow the "original" recipe with some modifications listed below. This is a triple batch, and I always double the butter, Worcestershire, and the seasoning... this batch I also made spicy so I added about 6oz of my own Smoked Garlic Habanero hot sauce and reduced the butter slightly to make up for the extra liquid.

The mix is equal parts Rice, corn, and wheat chex, cheerios, pretzels, cheese it's, and peanuts with sm. bag of pita chips broken up as well.

Smoked on 225* for about 2 hrs, mixing every 30 min. Turned out pretty good for a first attempt smoking... supprised how the smoke comes through. Taking a bag to work to get some feedback but I think it's a keeper!

Dang. Now I need this! Cruel mate.

I might need to give this a rip. My wife makes chex mix every Christmas. Might need to smoke a batch.

Just ate a small bag at lunch. Love the stuff and never heard of this. Definitely will try.

I leave out pretzels but add Cheez-Its. And oat Cheerios are a good cereal addition too. (My corn:rice:wheat:oat ratio is 3:2:2:2. I've made it with mixed nuts (minus peanuts) for those with peanut sensitivities but usually use just Costco peanuts...and they get extra time in the sauce!

And instead of pans, I cut up a lot of 1/4" grid mesh and stack a bunch of them in a vertical smoker. They smoke and bake faster that way.

Taking a bag to work to get some feedback but I think it's a keeper! If anyone has information on real estate opportunities, I’m very interested. I’m currently searching for a reasonably priced apartment for sale in Thessaloniki that is close to public transport and local amenities. Ideally, it should be well-maintained and suitable for long-term living. Any advice on reliable agents, websites, or neighborhoods to focus on would be greatly appreciated. Personal experiences or tips would also help me make a more informed decision.
That sounds fantastic! The combination of Chex, Cheerios, pretzels, cheese-its, peanuts, and pita chips with the smoked garlic habanero sauce must give it a great balance of flavor and heat. Smoking it at 225° for 2 hours and stirring every 30 minutes was a smart move; it probably helped the smoke flavor penetrate evenly. Doubling the butter, Worcestershire, and seasoning was a good call, and reducing the butter slightly to account for the extra sauce makes sense. I’m sure it’s a hit at work; definitely a keeper!

Club Cracker minis work well also along with the cheese flavored Goldfish. A little Tobasco in the butter and a little of Jeffs Texas rub is not bad for me also. Lots of ways to change it up. Thanks for posting.

Kids aren't crazy about CPM because it's savory, not sweet. The Goldfish crackers are a genius replacement of CheeseIts to appeal to a younger crowd. Thanks!!

I've used some cayenne pepper before to add a little heat but will have to try Tabasco next time.

I actually used to use the regular gold fish and liked the flavor better but it felt a little weird taking it to work for a bunch of adults so I switched to the cheese-it's...lol

Growing up we always just used the cheap thin pretzel sticks but now I primary use the butter snaps that are squares or circles, they seem to actually capture more of the flavor in the little holes and taste pretty darn good plain!
