So we had some turkey drumsticks in the freezer that was past time for doing something with.

Decided to cure them using Pop's brine... into the cure. Put them into the bath on Sunday and removed on Thursday. Then dried and put on a rack in fridge till Friday

Seasoned and onto my GMG pellet smoker.

Don't remember what temp I ran but were in smoker for right at 3 hours... came out looking like this...

We had just finished 8 lbs of venison jerky thus the dehydrator trays in the pic. The color of these were perfect !

They were big enough we really didn't have much for sides with them. But one night did have some sweet corn

Will have to look for more of these again!

Looks great Ryan.
Honestly, I haven't had a cured turkey leg in over 40 years. That was at the Renaissance Festival near Minneapolis.
Every time I see chicken legs on sale I get the notion to cure a batch.

Well Ryan , those Disney legs are beautiful, and great colour on and in them.

I love doing them, We just cant find in the store very often. Might have to buy whole birds and part them up when on sale.

David
Thank you David, they were really good! Maybe more so because we can't find them very often. I'll have to talk to the meat manager about getting more in this year.

Fine looking legs Ryan. great color.
Thanks Brian, I appreciate it!

Thanks Rich! I'll keep my eye out for some! Maybe if we get to Sioux City sometime we'll have better luck with the bigger stores. Just don't go often since it's an hour away.
