I am interested in getting a pellet/smoker grill and see one on Marketplace. I see a Traeger Timberline 850 for sale that the owners says he purchased 2-3 years ago. The pictures make it appear to be in very clean condition. Traeger may not even still make this particular model.

I`d really like others to weigh-in with their thoughts. The seller wants $850 for it.

My intention is to primarily use it for smoking (ribs, butts, poultry) and not so much as a grill. Some research says Traegers may not be the best brand out there but this would be my first pellet grill purchase.

I`d love to hear any thoughts good or bad on Traeger in general or even from other Timberline 850 owners.

Is $850 a fair price?

The 850 is still made and they go for $1700 new.Outside of that I have no knowledge positive or negative when it comes to the brand and/or model.

Sounds like it might be a fair price if in great condition. I'd show up with 5 bills and make an offer!

OR.....they're several other new options in that price range.
