I was also under the impression that the wood went in the water pan. I'm guessing that's not right? I have wood chips, so I'm not sure how is use them around the burner/element without touching.
Cool. I have had it on for about an hour, but the hottest I've been able to get it is 210 degrees. I'm in Ohio and it's about 75 out tonight. I'll pick up some lava rocks tomorrow and hopefully they will help hold more heat in.
You are correct Bob. It is a Brinkmann Gourmet clone. It's about 3 feet tall and about 16 inches in diameter. 2 racks, burner on bottom, pan sits on top of that. I'll work on getting my info updated :)
