Fire Boxes are hard to keep painted So much heat. I just repainted my entire smoker and refinished the wood, I have to touch up the fire box every so often just because of the heat.

Just keep an eye on your fire box and touch it up when needed, that's what I do and your smoker stays looking nice. Mine sits out in the weather so I know I to paint mine every so often.
