Dont know where your at with this project but I would be concerned if your making a water troth for the smoker.....With the RF plate you really have to throw a lot of fuel at it to get the temps up to 225 without water... Once it gets there it will hold pretty good. If you add water to the smoker your temps will fall or it will be will harder to recover or reach temp.... 14 guage might be a little thin also...just a thought
