Hello, my name is Jennifer. I live in Minnesota. I am on my 2nd year with my Char-Broil off set charcoal/wood smoker. I mostly have learned from watching my dad smoke on the same unit, got the smoking bug from him for sure. My "specialty" is turkey and chicken, at least I haven't totally ruined any of those yet. We smoke turkeys for Thanksgiving, and last year the torch was passed on to me. This can be a challenge, as it can be rather cold in MN on Thanksgiving. So far the information I have come across on this forum has been really helpful. I didn't know that the temp "plateau" was real, I just thought I was doing something wrong. Thanks! Look forward to learning lots. I love cooking, and smoking brings it to another level.
