My name is Sven, I am 19 years old from the Netherlands, and want to get better at real bbq.
I have recently bought a cheap kettle grill after my family had a gasbbq for a couple of years.
Now that we have a charcoal grill I want to learn to smoke and everything else that can be done with a bbq.
I tried doing some spare ribs last week, but they were it bit too spicy for my family, and not as i tender as i wanted.
I hope I can learn a lot here and become a real pro.

Hey Sven and welcome from Wisconsin! It comes with a lot of cooks but soon enough you'll be great in no time.. I started with more forgivable things like pork butts.. I learned so much from this site and I'm sure you will as well!

Greetings from Mississippi! Tons of knowledge here. But beware, this smoker cooking thing is addictive. And brush up on your picture taking skills. We are a bunch for food porn voyeurs here.

Greetings from Missouri (central USA) and welcome the the SMF!

Please let us know what kind of meats you have available in your grocery stores. I know when I was in Germany the choices were quite different than here in the USA.
