Been doing a lot of reading here and came across the Tri Tip Brisket way. Love Brisket but I’m still a little new to commit to a long smoke brisket way, this changes every smoke. Picked up a Tri Tip from Giant Eagle Market District, great looking cut of meat. Rubbed Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Smoked at 225 until IT hit 160, wrapped in foil, added a little bit of beef broth and Worcestershire. Smoked at 225 until IT hit 190, let out steam and rest for 20. Best smoked meat I’ve ever had in my life full knowing that the next time I smoke it will be better!

Looks good but when I do tritip we do it like a steak. Well sear it on all sides then cook it indirectly until it hits about 130-135 and let it rest for about 20 minutes. No need really to cook a tritip past 140, or wrap it really. Next time try it like it’s a giant steak and pull it early. You’ll see tritip had a lot of flavor!
