Finally got the chance to fire up my new pellet grill yesterday.
Decided to fill it up with a pork shoulder, whole chicken (beer can style infused with lemon wedges) and some centre cut ribs my wife picked up.
I started the shoulder at 9am and then put the chicken and ribs on at noon.
I have to say I was really impressed with this new unit.
I set the temp at 250 and it ran for 9 hours on about 12 lbs of pellets under not ideal conditions either.
I love my charcoal offset but this set it and forget it method is nice to have when you don't have time to babysit.
I still prefer the smoke from the charcoal unit and adding apple wood chunks.
I am now in the process of trying to find a really good pellet manufacturer that is local to me.
Not my finest work but we were very happy with the results.
Here are a few pics from the day.
Thanks for looking
