Creasote in WSM

Does this look creasote in the top of my WSM? I am doing what I can to reduce it. What do you guys to keep it at a minimum?

It is a combination of smoke, moisture, fat, and, yes, creosote. It doesn't hurt anything as long as it doesn't get on the meat.

It will build over time and can flake off, especially if the smoker sits unused for a few weeks. Just hit it with a wire brush every once in a while.
