CA BBQ Association Event

This is a great event. I went to it and met Aaron a couple of years ago. His by far was the best Peoples Choice at the event.  The venue is the Pechanga Casino and is a great place to unwind as well. 

We were planning on going but are camping with the 4h kids at the fair and move in is a 7AM tomorrow.  If any of you get the the San Diego Fair - give me a call on my cell 760 468-7104. We will be there almost every day until 7/5

Scarbelly - thanks for the words!  BUT - just to avoid confusion - the event this Saturday is at Pechanga - still a nice place to unwind but a few miles away!

Have fun at the fair - I hear they have deep fried whole sticks of butter.  If they figure a way to wrap them in bacon, I'm in!

Vista Event Confusion

The Vista website is  messed up - The event is on the 4th of August 2012 and is being held in downtown Vista.  Their webpage says at the top it is the 4th annual but the section I copied for you shows it as the 3rd and the link is to the second one.

The public tasting is from 12-4 - I called and verified it with the city this morning.  It is a fun event and I look forward to meeting some of you.

I've competed at this event (Vista) every year and it is a good one.  Lots of great teams and about half are serving up some great People's Choice.  We'll have ABT's, Pig Candy, Pulled Pork, Tri Tip, Brisket, and more.  Please stop by the Meat, Inc. team and say hi!  We'll see you out there!

My BBQ Team is competing this weekend in Santee.  Open to the public and a HUGE Car show on Saturday - 9am - 5pm, live music, lots of stuff to see - and Meat, Inc. BBQ Team.  We are cooking up a few hundred pounds of People's Choice meats this weekend including over 50lbs of pig candy and a crowd favorite - smoked pineapple.
