New Yoder YS640S with Q VIEW

Congrats! That q looks great and the Yoder will work with consistency - just give it a little patience getting used to temps and pellet brands - wish I could have sprung for the cart when I bought mine - no regrets though still cooks great - enjoy

ANY YODER YS640S OWNERS OUT THERE? NEED OPINION.

I've had one since Feb 2013, only replaced the ignitor to date. Very happy with it, used it both for smoking and grilling. Some quirks but once you figure it out works great. Built like a tank!

First Pellet Smoker and 1st Cook

Forgot to say best place for the tube, at least on my 640 is top shelf left rail, seems to distribute smoke throughout best I can tell, due to convection.

First Pellet Smoker and 1st Cook

I've had a 640 for a while, definitely a great smoker. Definitely use the tube for extra smoke and use bottom racks. Temp at 300 to 325 will work, fun part is you can try again. I use a blend of Maple and Hickory for chicken. Enjoy.

    Uneven Yoder

Yoder averages temperatures based on the u26 firmware note the probe is at the left and it needs to compensate based on a number of factors. I used to think the same but if you put probes in various spots you will find the average is very close. I've found the wind and external temps to be the...

    Yoder y 640

I had psoted thisa while back on a port install for Yoder, though I have not followed developments so not sure if  this is the best way. It is still working for my Yoder 640 with maverick probes - http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/138282/new-yoder-ys640-just-arrived-in-ct#post_956050

New Yoder YS640 Just Arrived...in CT

The large wheels are easy (if you ordered the same) using the existing axles.  I replaced my axle with a solid rodall the way thru forsome additional stability.  The swivel wheels were a bit more work.  makes sure you  use a step drill not a straight as the materialis very thick.  Use a straight...

First Purchase $700-$1100? Tight Budget Im Stuck

RcknBBQ" url="/t/150864/first-purchase-700-1100-tight-budget-im-stuck#post_1075109"]I have to agree with Chef Willie. I went less expensive in September on a SFB smoker and while I am not disappointed, I already wish I had the better and in this case larger model. It really bothered when I did...
