I'd like to hold off on naming the brand since they've been great to work with so far. The brand is highly regarded on this site.
I'm new to these so I may have used the wrong term. Not the hopper but the area where the pellets are actually burning. Firepot maybe?
Hey all. I just got a pellet grill. I've done the initial burn in and then 3 cooks at temps from 250-325.
Yesterday when cleaning it out I noticed paint bubbling and peeling around the outside of the firebox.
Is this cause for concern? I did a google search and have seen it mentioned before...
I've only been doing ribs for about a year now so I'm definitely not an expert.
I too have experienced the same issue as you when using either the 3-2-1 or 2-2-1. Sometimes they came out really well, other time they were pretty bad.
After tons of reading about times, foil vs. no foil, temps...

Nice.
I had a hard time deciding whether or not to go with a kamado cooker but after getting used to it, I'm glad I did. From hot and fast to low and slow, it's all good.
Hey all. I cooked some BBs the other day on my Kamado. Came out pretty well, a little more pull than we like but the flavor and moisture was really good.
I used Stubbs briqs and burried some hickory chunks in there. I kept the temp right around 240 for about 4.5 hrs and didn't foil.
I used...
I think so. Going to keep the temp in the 230 range and assume 3-4 hrs. I'm not going to spritz but will apply some sauce towards the end of the cook. I'll be using Stubbs briquettes with some hickory and cherry chunks mixed in.
I'm taking Friday off and it's supposed to be in the low 60's...
