First ever smoke on my new stickburner!

Howdy from Texas! Just got a stickburner for Christmas and what better way to break it in than some ribs for my wife's birthday! Used 2 spareribs and trimmed down to St Louis cuts, but kept the tips as well. Who would throw out perfectly good meat?! Wife is more in the camp of FOTB, so tried...

    Smoking my Ribs

Wish I could say I had an answer to your question, but i just finished my first ever smoke today! Honestly, I have a question for you. When I was looking for what lump I wanted to use in my new stickburner, I read a bunch of folks saying Cowboy lump tends to be very "sparky" and not a good...

    Suggestions for the bacon

Ordered a package of thick bacon and one pork sparerib cut from Kroger delivery.....they delivered THREE! I double checked and sure enough I was only charged for one. A late Christmas present from Kroger I guess! Lol. I already have plans for the ribs and rib tips on my new offset, but unsure...

He's only 9, so not quite 16 yet, but he has been talking about wanting to help with my first smoke. Seems they changed the design on this smoker cause my stack is built into the lid of the...

New smoker in the TX Hill Country

What are your thoughts on firebricks to help it maintain temps better? I have yet to run my seasoning fire in it, but I expect that I'm gonna find it hard to keep it at a steady temp without burning through way too much wood. Then again, what's a stickburner for if not burnin' sticks!

    Can I still use this?...

Recently got an offset smoker for Xmas, and this will be my first foray into smoking. A local woodworker sold me some very cheap ($5 per stuffed feedbag) offcuts of oak, pecan, and mesquite but some of them are....well, questionable.o Including some pics of some of the more questionable pieces...

New smoker in the TX Hill Country

Howdy, y'all! Been telling my wife for years that I want a smoker, and been a lurker on this forum for a long while as well. Well, this Christmas she went and bought me an offset! I'm excited as hell to get into smoking, especially with an oldschool stickburner like the one she got (everbody...
