What is Ramp on Digi Q DX2?

  1. Hello All! Haven't posted in a year but smoking occasionally. Went to a small "Barbecue and Blues" contest the other day and got to see how the big boys do it. Everyone had some sort of blower so I got me a DX2.  Thing is, I don't know what  the ramp setting does! Can you fill me in? I've been looking at all the nice meats you guys are smoking, sure does look good! Gonna do a butt and a flat this weekend in my WSM 18. Thanks for the info, in advance. Kevin

  2. Of course, I just found the explanation on the instructions! Duh!!!!!!!! Sorry!  Didn't read far enough. kevin

  3. As the meat gets closer to being done(food temperature setting), the ramp function slowly lowers the pit temperature to keep from overcooking the meat.
We don't need no stinkin' instructions... [IMG]

  4. Thanks, Prankster. That is a cool feature. I've been reading most of the threads around here on brisket and you are posting in all of them. What do you do, smoke 7 days a week? Anyways, I'm glad you do. I'm sure I'll be using some of your tips. Thanks again. kevin

  5. Anytime!!!

I work in the food industry, artisan chocolatier, and I have a commercial kitchen I can work/experiment in.

When I'm not making chocolates for an event or client, I'm planning and/or smoking away.
