Just a quick grill last night. Some tri-tip, spuds and grilled zucchini and broccoli.

Spuds coming off. Yes, that is a dinner plate.

    Rubbed tri-tip

On the grill with a couple bacon & cheddar burgers.

Son's burgers. He's not big on steak, and with the price of steak, that's fine by me.

    Off the grill to rest.

And plated. Note the spud boat with everything. Click on this one for the full effect.

Looks good, but those are some weird looking tri tips. Looks more like a New York steak???? Hmmmmmmm....

It's almost looks like they filleted a tri tip in half!

This is what they look like here.

These haven't been peeled but the shape is what they look like.

Saw some more trimmed tri-tip in a different store today. It looks similar to what I bought, so I guess it just depends on how you cut it.

I still think they look a bit odd. Just wondering if they are trimming them differently. The ones I posted hadn't been
"Peeled yet" (yes you can retry much peel that fat layer right off). But even once peeled the shape is a very distinct, boomerang shape, and covers a plate. Maybe out here in Tri Tip Country the cows at bigger!

Didn't mean to hijack your thread. Your meal looks fantastic.
