Some Chicken on a Saturday afternoon smoke -- lots of Qview

    Hey all,

     After seeing how good Larry's and others chicken has been coming out i decided to make a chicken of my own. So i spatchcocked a bird and applied some rub

    I used a new rub i got through the mail from butchers BBQ as you can see in the pic.

    then i got some fire going in the Lang

    After the fire was going i got the meat on the smoker ( i smoked some tenderloins and a pork butt too)

    When the chicken was at about 158 IT i pulled it and put on some BBQ sauce (ketchup, lemon juice, molasses,1 tbs of rub, honey and margarine)

    then back on smoker until it reach 165 degrees and then wrapped for 30 minutes to rest.

    when it was done i enjoyed a nice leg quarter as seen here and it was great chicken!

    How did the tenderloins & the butt turn out?

    The chicken was delicious and juicy!

    The tenderloins came out good but they only got hit with about 45 minutes of smoke before they were done and come out with some Ham like taste. (very good though)

    The butt is in the freezer came out with about inch and half bone sticking out of it but i haven't pulled it and i wont till i reheat it for dinner this week.

    I think next time i will smoke a bigger tenderloin and cut it up.
