Smokeless in Seattle

  1. Hello, my name is Steve and I am having a problem controlling my smoking habit.  I have been smoking meats, low and slow, for a little over a year now.  Brisket is a favorite, but recently tried tri-tip and found it to be pretty good, but pretty expensive.  Pulled pork is second, then on to the poultry family.  I've bought enough Weber-Stephens products that I should be part owner by now.  The smoker of choice so far has been the Weber kettle with a smokinator adaptor, but strongly considering a move to the WSM.  This weekend I think it'll be a whole chicken roasted beer-butt style, but instead of a nasty aluminum beer can, I'll be using the nifty Weber bird holder. I enjoy learning things from other people, so that's why I'm here.

    Welcome from SC, Steve. This is a great site with lots of really good folks who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading. The WSM is a great unit to start smoking with. I had one for several years and really enjoyed it. They are very user friendly, hold temps well and are fuel efficient. With their porcelain finish, there is no seasoning required and it is easy to keep clean.
