Just landed on SMF to start learning by reading.

I recently got a Smokin-It Model 2 - yes...it's electric, and I'm going against my purist tendencies. I've got some minimal smoking experience using  a smoker box on my propane grill as well as smoking game on a drum smoker - but in the case of the latter, I wasn't the guy tending fire, keeping temp, or choosing woods. So I jumped into this electric while I have a busy career and a couple young girls - wanted to spend a couple years getting my chops down on recipes and wood selection, while keeping the equipment process a bit easier.

I hunt birds and big game, so I'm looking forward to years of field-to-table meals. And my wife loves game and smoked meats...didn't know that when I dropped the ring on her!

Looking forward to the learning and the next meal...

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those little "pesky" rules before plunging into the forums. It's just a reminder of what to do and what is sort of a no-no here.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
