Gather my ingredients: pork sausage, hamburger, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapenos, garlic, onion, chili beans, and spices.

Stewed my tomatoes then added the other ingredients while my meat browned in the smoker.

Throw it all in one pot and back into the smoker.

Add a little cheese and green onion and talk the wife into baking some beer bread and chow time.  Thanks for looking!

Never tried that. Do you really get much smoke flavor to your chili that way?

  5. This was the first time I've tried it this way and I'm sorry to say there was not as much smoke flavor as I would've liked.  I was hoping by browning the meat and then simmering the whole mix in the smoker for awhile that I would be able to achieve a higher smoke level than I ended up with.  It was still good just not what I was dreaming about.

Sure do.  That recipe is one of few that I don't even have to look in the box for it's so simple.

    3 C self-rising flour

    1/4 C sugar

    12 oz beer

Usually open the beer early in the day and let it sit on the counter to come to room temp.  Mix the ingredients by hand in a bowl and pour into loaf pan.  Bake at 350 for 45 min or so.  Get it while it's fresh and hot!  Usually won't last long.
