Packer brisket on a Traeger

    We purchased the Traeger before we knew what a pellet grill should do, and are a bit disappointed in the rather poor temperature control.  Might need to retrofit a PID if we keep this unit.  However, it is a bit bigger than the GMG Davy Crockett, and decided to use the Traeger for this cook.

    Used a Thermoworks dual probe monitor, and had to babysit the Traeger

    The meat turned out okay

    Used some for sammies

    Burnt ends for the cook [​IMG]

    I'm sorry, but that meat looks like it turned out a little better than "okay"  [​IMG]

    What problems with temp,were you experiencing? Fluctuating or not low enough?

    You guys are too kind [​IMG]

    @ Mike - fluctuating temperatures - sometimes 25F or so.  We don't have a problem coming up to temperature, but the digital readout swings by that much, and a separate Thermoworks probe agrees.
