Hey folks, just signed up so thought i'd post a wee hello. I'm a complete novice when it comes to smoking, i've always liked eating smoked food and living in Scotland its incredibly hard to find any of the good stuff you guys in the US call BBQ (smoked ribs, brisket etc etc) so have decided to try and do it myself. Haven't bought a smoker yet, looking to make the right choice which is a big reason for finding my way here. Plan is to get something pretty cheap to start with, everything i have read so far suggests a vertical will be an easier starting point than an offset, though i am finding it very hard to find anything for sale mail order. Anyway, hopefully i'll be able to lean on knowledge contained in this forum to make life as easy as possible. Cheers, James.
