New to smf

    Family smoker I do all the smoking for my family all year I live in burleaon Texas I have a brinkman vertical smoker and its great I use wood and it works alot better than charcoal hands down I am smoking a 20 pound turkey on it this year along with a 5pound ham it should turn out excellent I am kinda new to the smoking world and am open to any advice you guys can give looking forward to all your feedback

    If y'all have any advice on how long I should smoke this 20 lb turkey I am off the whole day before Thanksgiving so any feedback would be perfect

    Ya brining the bird ? I personally like brining my turkeys ! What's your prep plans ? After brining, I like to pat dry with paper towels & coat with a little peanut oil.... What temp ya smoking it at ? You'll wanna smoke til IT of 165* IT in the breast & 175* IT in the thigh.... I don't smoke to time, just IT & some will take longer than others but if you've got the time as ya say, just enjoy the smoke with a couple cold ones !
