Thanks for the comments guys. Joe, The reason I haven't closed in the fire box yet is because I'm still designing it. I'm going to have it laser cut and I'm just finishing up the placement of the dampers. Hoping to have it on by the end of the month. Might be overkill but it should work out great.

Blacktop, Just another failed attempt at humor. Your build looks great. I only wish that I had the skill to try a build. It must be very rewarding. Please don't take offence at my comment. Joe

No offence taken Joe! Just thought I'd explain as I'm sure someone out here is probably wondering why it hasn't been done. Can't wait to light the first fire!

Great !!! I'm looking forward to seeing that fire too. You have done a great job and it sounds like you've thought everything through. Joe

Got the chimney on and the thermometers. Just need to make the guards for the thermometers yet then the exterior should be near done (minus the firebox door/dampers). I'm still hoping to have it done by the end of April. Fingers crossed.

Lets fire it up and see how it smokes

Gary

Soon. Should have my firebox door early this week along with my handle brackets. Shouldn't be long now.

Got my fire grate whipped up, food racks done, and exterior shelf about 2/3's done. Just need to make the prop rod for the shelf, damper for the chimney, and the door stops for the cook chamber and top firebox door. Hopefully get it banged out by the end of the week. Not much time on the weekends now that it's race season.
