MES 30

    Hi all,

    I recently got an electric MES 30 and after the recommended burn in and cleaning I smoked a few chicken breasts. ( Brine for 2 hours, dried and seasoned. )  I only used a few wood chips at a time and refilled the thing 3 times,the chicken tasted like an ashtray.  This has never happened with my other smokers any ideas of what went wrong?

    Get a AMNPS from Todd
    They work great with a MES.
     
  3. Did you have your vent the whole way open?

    Vent wide open and the temp was 225.  I have an AMNPS and will use it soon, was just trying out the MES.
     
  5. Not sure what to say then - I have an MES 30 but I use an AMNPS with the mailbox mod & never had that problem. The only time I burnt chips in the MES was when I seasoned it...
